Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort glass igloo experience (video)

Lapland Finland wasn’t even on my radar and certainly Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort wasn’t on my wish list for the year. Lapland, Finland was the highlight of my Autumn Nordic Trip. You can read more about my trip here. To say it accurately the whole Nordic trip was organized and tailor-made after I was invited to stay at Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort.

Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort

Imagine sleeping in a glass igloo. Falling asleep while counting the stars and waking up with the first rays of sun.

I stayed in Kelo-Glass igloo which was a combination of an igloo and a normal chalet. It was spacious and comfortable. Though there was a huge bed but I found myself sleeping in the glass igloo watching the sky for any signs of Northern Lights.

I loved having my very own private sauna room inside the bathroom.

How to get there

2 hour flight from Helsinki airport.

The Food

Lunch was mainly soup. I really enjoyed the salmon soup.

I wanted to try the local cuisine so I had my share of reindeer meat. It was actually very nice. I felt bad for the poor reindeer but I loved my dish!

The Video

Here is a short video that I made of my stay at Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort in Lapland Finland. With a sneak peek of my Northern Lights experience.
