Qawwali is a form of Sufi devotional music popular in South Asia, particularly in the Punjab and Sindh regions of Pakistan, Hyderabad, Delhi and other parts of India.
I saw these young Qawwali singers at Ajmer Sharif Dargah during the Urs Sufi festival in Ajmer, Rajasthan. I was amazed with how good these boys were despite their young age (probably 6-7 years old). They obviously were trained well and will turn out to be great Qawwali singers. It was funny how the boys were completely aware of me shooting them and kept looking at me rather than looking straight to the Khawaja’s shrine while performing. I guess its a matter of time till these boys learn to isolate themselves like the other mature Qawwali performers.
