Following a self-assigned mission to find the best brunch spots in Bahrain. We (Reem & I) visited Roche Café located in Adliya (The road in front of Siraj cafeteria).
I pinned the location to google maps for easy reference
There are two shops one of them is the café (Right side) and the other one is across the road from it. The other one is for outside orders and takeaways.
We arrived around 11 am, the café was full but we were offered to sit at the other shop since they have a couple of empty tables there. We didn’t mind eating at the shop since it was quiet and the service was excellent.
We ordered Saffron tea, Samboosa chapatti and Mehyawa cheese khubuz (the mehyawa was a thin not noticable layer) The food arrived promptly and the portion size was good. I don’t know what I loved the most the Mehyawa cheese khubuz or the Samboosa chapatti! I love chapatti so I will shamelessly lean towards it! (Weekends are to show some love for carbs!).
The tea was good too but a bit creamy.
To end the meal we ordered Rangeena (Famous Bahraini dessert made with dates, flower, walnuts with spices like cardamom and cinnamon). It came with a side of vanilla ice-cream. I didn’t like the ice-cream and I thought the Rangeena was over infused with spices.
The verdict
Location: A bit tricky to find if you are not familiar with the area. Parking is available
Menu: Variety of Bahraini, lebanese and Indian dishes
Atmosphere: Can be crowded but I can’t judge since we sat at the shop not the cafe
Food Quality: Excellent
Food Presentation: Good
Portion Size: Good enough not too big
Favorite order: Samboosa Chapatti
Least Favorite order: Rangeena
Value for money: Very Good
Service: Excellent
Will I go there again: Definitaly
