Regardless of how many new steak houses opening up in Bahrain, I don’t think any of them stand a chance to take over Meat co’s place as the most popular destination for meat lovers in the island.
I visited The Meat company (Meat Co.) with my friend Reem for dinner last Monday. It was good to see the place so lively filled with people enjoying their night on a weekday. It was a good reminder to me that people actually do go out after long office hours!
The Meat Co is a South African Steak House under the Food Fund International brand of restaurants. It has been serving the finest steaks in the country since it originally opened in 2007.
We started our dinner fiesta by ordering a selection of starters. We chose chili prawns, risotto scallop and chicken liver. Loved the prawns, really loved the scallop and was slightly disappointed with the chicken liver. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t as delicious as the other two starters.
I always order good old new York steak when I go to Meat co. This time I decided to try the wagyu burger. It was so good and so rich with flavors my mouth was having a party! I would definitely come back for it (on an empty stomach!). It was served with Meat Co’s signature potato fries and onion rings.
Reem wanted to try the ribs but they were out of it. So she ordered the steak.
Though we were full but we had to have dessert. We ordered the chef dessert platter. It has a small sample size of the menu desserts. Apple crumble, Nutella cheesecake, chocolate fondant and Creme Brulée were some of the desserts served. My favorite were the apple crumble and chocolate fondant.
