Cochin through my iPhone

I will Start sharing my India through my iPhone series with my first destination in Kerala that is Cochin. I traveled to India to be part of an expedition and multimedia photography.

The workshop

Oracles of Kerala Photo Expedition-Workshop with the well-known photographer Tewfic El-Sawy aka The Travel Photographer. I’m a big fan of the travel photographer’s work and have been following his blog religiously for some time. I wasn’t sure if I would be accepted to this workshop. The requirement clearly says that this workshop is not for the first time travelers to India. I’ve never been there before so I wrote to Tewfic. I showed my interest to join the workshop. I also sent some of my Documentary Muaharraq photos which were exhibited at that time.

To my surprise Tewfic was very helpful and accepted my request to join the workshop he was also excited to know that I’m from Bahrain and he has lived in Bahrain during the 80’s !

Cochin

Cochin was the first destination of this adventure. I arrived around 3 am India time and was welcomed at the airport by Robin our travel agent and tour organizer. Robin came all the way from Delhi just to welcome each one of the workshop members. He accompanied me with the driver to Dream  hotel. We stayed there for couple of nights before travelling again to Kumarakom. I have a lot to say about India and our journey but will stop for now and leave you with Cochin iPhoto instagram gallery. Most shots are plain street photography some were taken at the ginger palace, fort Kochi chinese fishing nets and the laundry. I also included my shots from Taj hotel where I stayed for the last couple of nights of the trip in Cochin before heading home.

Cheers :)
